Internship Engagement at Ben Lau Dance Movement

Social Media Marketing Intern

Summer 2025

My commitment to the arts extends to my internship as a Social Media Marketing Intern at Ben Lau Dance Movement. During this engagement, I gained significant hands-on experience by directly enhancing the organisation's public presence, specifically through the design of striking promotional posters, targeted video editing, and active management of the Ben Lau Dance website. This role provided Syahrul with invaluable insight into the inner workings of an arts organization, revealing not only the day-to-day functional rhythm of the company but also the strategic processes used to successfully secure clientele and cultivate future collaborations with partnering organizations, offering a crucial look into the business development side of the dance sector

Diploma in Sonic Arts

Republic Polytechnic

2017 - 2019

My foundational technical skills stem from a Diploma in Sonic Arts, which provided in-depth training in audio engineering and production workflows. This comprehensive program taught me how to expertly manage the full cycle of live sound, from the meticulous setup and teardown of AV equipment for both in-house events and external deployments. Their production capabilities were further solidified through extensive studio recording works, culminating in the successful recording of an EP for the Singapore Hospice Council as their final year project. Complementing this academic experience, Syahrul completed an internship with Expo AV, where they served as an AV crew member, regularly setting up and tearing down equipment for various high-profile corporate events.
